Dr. Valerie Fadok received her DVM from Washington State University in 1978, after which she did an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group. A residency in veterinary dermatology followed at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Fadok became board-certified in 1982. She earned a PhD in Experimental Pathology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences center in 1991. Dr. Fadok has worked on faculty at University of Tennessee, the University of Florida, Texas A & M University, and National Jewish Medical and Research Center. Prior to joining Zoetis in January of 2016, she worked in private specialty practice in Denver and Houston. Dr. Fadok has lectured internationally, nationally, and locally on subjects relating to veterinary skin disease, immunology, and inflammation, and was a dermatology consultant on the Veterinary Information Network (VIN).
Dr. Fiona Bateman is originally from Australia and graduated with honors from the University of Melbourne in 2005. Dr. Bateman completed her residency in Veterinary Dermatology in Brisbane, Australia and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2014. She established a dermatology referral practice in Melbourne, Australia before heading to the USA where she was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Georgia from 2016. Dr. Bateman also worked in private practice in the Greater Atlanta area. In June 2019, she joined the Veterinary Professional Services team at Zoetis. Dr. Bateman has published many peer-reviewed articles, written book chapters, and lectured extensively both in the US and internationally. Her special areas of interest include treatments for environmental allergies in dogs, otitis externa, and collagen disorders in dogs.
